The poems analyzed in this report card include: cleaning lady blend in by Maya Angelou; Old Florist by Theodore Roethke; and component Croppers by Langston Hughes. The three poems helping the same relationship; they are completely poems about the workplace. The setoff poem, written by Maya Angelou is adult female Work. Woman Work is a rhythmic poem. The second poem is Theodore Roethkes The Old Florist. The poem is complete with a satire, hyperboles and other figurative language.
The third poem of review is Langton Hughes Share Croppers. This poem refers to Afri understructure Americans during a time of slavery.
Comparative Analysis
Poetry is a literary expression of an authors thoughts, feelings or ideas. Poetry can either be fact or fiction. Poetry is not something that can be put into a box of either kind because of the varying types and styles. In this paper I will analyze the relationship between the language and content in three selected poems. The poems analyzed in this paper include: Woman Work by Maya Angelou; Old Florist by Theodore Roethke; and Share Croppers by Langston Hughes. The analyses will include how the poets shape their language to glide by the selected workplace themes. Additionally, there will be an analysis of the means in which the choices of the poets are fitting to the messages attempted to be portrayed.
Ultimately, this paper will analyze the use of the various poetic techniques utilize by each poet.
Woman Work Maya Angelou
The three poems share the same relationship; they are all poems about the workplace. The first poem, written by Maya Angelou is Woman Work. Woman Work is a rhythmic poem. The poem is very well descriptive in the portrayal of a woman and her many duties and her feelings about those duties. The component is clearly overworking and is extremely tired.
