Greens MP Adam Bandt sums it up perfectly: Love has no boundaries; love has no limits. So why is it that this basic fact is so constantly ignored in Parliaments across the globe? It is something we have been taught since we were tots people are people, disregardless of gender, race, creed or sexual orientation, and this is why I mean that Federal parliaments, both here in Australia and around the worldly concern should grant same-sex couples the basic human right to confirm their relationships in marriage.
The main objective of parliament is to represent the views and opinions of those they represent that universe us, the Australian people. But currently, this is not happening. Today, 62% of Australians support same-sex marriage, which makes this set off more than one of just equality and social justice, that one that raises doubt as to the effectiveness of the Australian efficacious system.
The integrity of the legal system is central to the harmonious caterpillar tread of our society, so it is paramount, not only to those with a vested interest in the issue but to all Australians that it be resolved, for it could very hale see the end of what we so proudly call the easy country. Such a gross injustice allowed to parcel out today could very well give way to all sorts of terrible happenings in the future.
It is a matter of logic as homosexuals are just everyday people living a slightly different lifestyle, why should we, in this technologically and culturally advanced day and age practice such dazzling discrimination against them? Secular people dont discriminate against those leading a religious life, and weve left racism well in the past, so why does marriage discrimination linger?
