Meggie, one of the books main characters and the character in which I allow be analysing, is a likable heroine who overcomes many obstacles to triumph at the closing curtain.
The novel describes the tale of Meggie and her father, Mo who binds books for a living yet also has the power to read characters out of books. He never reads aloud to Meggie as one night when Meggie was young he read the evil Capricorn and his men out of a book called Inkheart and accidentally read Meggie’s mother into the composition.
From and so on, Mo has kept quiet about the whole thing, which meant he couldn’t risk reading aloud to Meggie anymore.
They make for the road, when they encounter that Capricorn is on the search for the book, but unfortunately end up in Capricorn’s village as prisoners. In a rousing finish, Fenoglio, the author of the book and Meggie point out a way to foil Capricorns plans — with surprising results.
The character in which I will be analysing is called, Meggie. At the beginning of the novel, Meggie seems standardized a quiet character who spends a lot of cartridge holder with her books as if they are her only friends.
As she is always on the road with Mo and his business, Meggie doesn’t seem to have the opportunity to make her own friends so brings books along on the journey.
“And the book doctor never called on his patients without taking his daughter also…
‘How about chicken-pox? Have I used that excuse already?’
‘Yes, the last time…”
She uses her books to comfort her in difficult situations and imagines herself aboard one of her favourite characters.
“Go on, admit it, the book whispers its story to you at night.’
“Sometimes, yes,’ Meggie had said”
